iStyle have been a client of ours for a number of years, specialising in high end construction, renovation and bespoke design. They approached us to launch a brand new social media presence and advertising strategy to modernise the company.
Where to start?
The project was to create 9 Instagram video posts which showcased some amazing property developments including the one above. Then a revamp to the website to bring it all inline. We started by creating the 3D logo below which would open every post to ensure brand identity.
How is it done?
3D objects within After Effects are achieved by taking an original illustrator logo (which we made) and creating an outline shape layer, which means the software effectively copies the shape and turns it in to something you can work with.
Once you have this you can mess with extrusion depth. What does that mean? It means you can 'make it chunky' which is our term for making it 3D.
Ok so you have that and now what? Well it looks awful as there are no lights effects. So you then add 3 or 4 point lights as per below

Once that is achieved, you then keyframe the various motion change that are required. On this occasion it was changing X and Y axis rotations and then the position to reveal the text.
Seems simple. Took a while.
Where next?
So with the intro nailed down, it was a case of showcasing their work. This meant piecing together a collection of mid construction images, videos and professional photography to create an engaging post. Is the end goal to get people visit their website and ask them to build an enormous house? No. It's designed to create a showcase that prospective clients can view to ensure the highest quality craft and workmanship.
We also added in some modern music to each post which mean doing some audio editing, a first for Tech Studio, but fairly straight forward.

A New Website
After creating the social posts, we then had the required assets to upgrade their website. It can be amazing how a site built around 6 years ago quickly falls out of date - the tech world and trends move quickly! Curved edge boxes are all the rage nowadays, hence why everything on this page and our site now has nice curvy boxes.
Their site colour scheme switched from black to white, font updates, (some more curvy boxes) and their online presence was revamped. The followers on social media are starting to build and they now have a site to go with it.
